Where
are we?
Our
bookshop is housed in a fascinating, 15th Century, beamed
building on the High Street in the historic town of Lewes,
East Sussex. The outside has recently undergone a sensitive
renovation, in keeping with the traditions of its history.
Our large stock of books can be browsed on the ground floor
where they are arranged in sections within the natural contours
of the building.

A
visit to the county town of Lewes offers attractions
such as the 11th-century stone motte-and-bailey
Castle, Anne of Cleves' House, the former residence
of Thomas Paine (author of "The Rights
of Man"), Harvey's Brewery, the Priory,
Grange Gardens and a lovely riverside walk.

Directions
The
shop is situated at the western end of the High Street,
opposite the entrance to Westgate Street Car Park. Travelling
west from the centre of Lewes, past the Law Courts and Castle
on your right, through to the traffic light controlled one-way
section (known locally as "the bottleneck") the
shop is on your left hand side, just before the return to
two-way traffic and at the top of a delightful cobbled lane.
